Lately, I’ve been reworking a site I use every day as a web app.
Keeping the original structure intact, embedding scripts one section at a time — turning it into something self-contained. A research and analysis tool, all in one place.
I could hand it off to an AI. But I’m the kind of person who needs to understand as I go. So I test each piece before moving on. Over and over.
It takes longer that way. But I know the code a little better now than I did before.
Errors show up constantly. Still — when a test runs and something actually works, there’s a quiet satisfaction in that.
I don’t mind people. But given the choice, I’d rather work alone in the silence. Notifications off. Just the work.
I check in on the community between sessions. That’s enough for a reset.
Not comparing. Not rushing. Just doing the thing, and finding it good.
