How to Keep Your Passion Alive

How to Keep Your Passion Alive

There’s an old saying: strike while the iron is hot.

I believe it. When something clicks and you think I want to try this — that moment is real. Don’t waste it.

But staying lit is another thing entirely.

I’ve started more things than I can count, fully intending to keep going. Most of them quietly fell away.

When that happens, I sometimes ask myself: what would someone I admire do here? It doesn’t always give me an answer. But it shifts something.

Rigid rules exhaust me. So I try to find a line that’s loose enough to breathe, tight enough to hold. Not a system. Just a line.

And then — am I actually enjoying this?

That question matters more than I used to think.

If something feels like a chore, I probably won’t keep it up, no matter how much I know I should. The feeling is data.

There are a few new things I’ve started recently. I have a sense that the moment of choosing — continue or let go — is coming.

For the ones I’ve chosen to keep, I’m going to try.
